Lighting is a passion.
Lighting In Style began with an unexpected opportunity.
Blair Budai's brother suggested that he purchase a lighting business in Bakersfield, California. That business became Christmas Lighting Anytime, and what began as a business quickly became something more personal.
After years working as an electrical engineer, Blair discovered how much he enjoyed helping people use lighting to create something special—designing and installing holiday lighting that families could enjoy and share with friends, neighbors, and loved ones.
That passion for lighting has only grown. One weekly business associate once described Blair as “the most passionate person for lighting that he's ever met.”
But lighting isn't the only place where design matters.
Electrical work involves design, too.
Electricians make choices in each project that affect how it will be used, though clients may have little or no input—or even knowledge—about how those decisions will affect their use of the finished result or what alternatives may be available.
Design in electrical work involves understanding the client's objectives and figuring out the best way to accomplish them.
That's where my approach to serving clients comes in:
Do the work as I would want it done for me, while making sure it meets the client's objectives.
With a new name and a wider focus, Lighting In Style Electrical, LLC brings together my experience as an electrical engineer, my electrical contracting expertise, and my passion for lighting and thoughtful design.
Today, we provide electrical and lighting services ranging from design and installation to the practical electrical work that makes an idea possible.
But the goal remains much the same as it was in the beginning:
Listen to the client. Understand what they want to accomplish. Figure out how to make it happen with their approval. Then get it done right—in style.
Why “In Style”?
It's not only our name. It's part of our approach.
Not just with style: In Style.
We all have a style. It's reflected in what we value, how we live, what we're drawn to, and what makes a space feel like our own.
To me, being in style means being engaged in that process—understanding what matters and designing around it.
That's why design is important to me. Whether I'm working with lighting or electrical systems, the goal isn't to impose my idea of what something should be. It's to understand what the client wants to accomplish and help make it happen in a way that is functional, thoughtful, and distinctly theirs.
